Spring Series #2 and other great sailing opportunities this weekend!

We’ve got some great sailing coming up this weekend, including the SSA Spring Series in Annapolis, the Smith Mountain Moonshine Regatta, and PRSA Spring Series #2 on the River.  I also want to remind you all to sign up for RC Duty and to pay your Fleet and PRSA dues if you haven’t already done so!  Also, remember that we have a new PRSA Crew Connection up and running, so be sure to check that out and to let me know if you’re looking for crew.  Keep reading for more details on all of these items!

First, I hope that you are all looking forward to getting back out on the water this weekend, as we certainly have no shortage of sailing opportunities for you!  Our neighbors up in Fleet 329 in Annapolis are hosting the SSA Spring Regatta (Saturday and Sunday), and the Virginia Inland Sailing Association (VISA) is hosting the 1st Annual Moonshine Regatta at Smith Mountain Lake (Saturday and Sunday).  I encourage you all to support our fellow fleets in the District by traveling to their regattas whenever you can, so make sure to keep an eye on our calendar of events.

If you are still in the DC area this weekend, though, then we also have PRSA Spring Series #2 out on the river.  We’ll be firing up the grill after the racing andI understand that there is a bit of PRSA food and beer left over from our opening weekend BBQ.  You might think about bringing a bit of extra food and beer, though, as we’re going to be moving back into our tradition of “BYO” for the post-race grill parties as we move through the season.

As you get excited about all of these great sailing opportunities, please remember two very important obligations: paying your dues and signing up for RC duty.  Bobby is still searching for a few RC volunteers for this weekend, and each skipper/crew is required to sign up for 2 days of duty for the season.  Pitching in and serving on the RC is essential so that we can all keep sailing all season long.

Finally, if you are looking for crew this weekend, them make sure to check out the PRSA Crew Connection and to post to the listserv and/or let me know so we can work on finding crew for you.  We have folks who want to get out on the water, so lets help them do just that!

No matter where you sail this weekend, I hope that you all sail fast and I look forward to seeing you on the water!

Cheers,
Aaron
